Muchas gracias a INFORGES e INFORGES GRUPO por tan generosa donación. Los enfermos de Parkinson recordaremos esta epopeya de Victor y Toni, dedicada especialmente a nuestro " compañero de fatigas ", Juan Franco, mientras vivamos (..y que sea por muchos años ). Asi como también a dos personas extraordinarias: Ricardo y Salvador.
Yo imgreso el próximo jueves 25 en el hospital para ser operado el lunes 29, y prometo no quitarme la camiseta del evento durante todo el tiempo que está allí, rodeado de personas con Parkinson, neurólogos, neurocirujanos, personal de enfermería, etc...o sea que voy a defender nuestros colores y si tengo ocasión daré una charla en el hospital, para que todo el mundo se entere dela buena gente que sois.

Hola Paco, soy Salvador, mi familia y yo mismo te deseamos lo mejor. Puedes estar seguro de que cuando tú estés luchando por tu pronta recuperación, nosotros estaremos pedalenado para que no te falten ánimos. ¡Muestra esa camiseta tanto como puedas!. Un abrazo.
Caramba, ¡ con estos gregarios de auténtico lujo, Ricardo, Salvador, etc... así se opera de Parkinson cualquiera !. Me siento la " figura " ( figurilla en este caso porque apenas levanto 160 cm del suelo ) que ha sufrido una "pajara " y su equipo le lleva en volandas a la meta. Y aunque se que ganarán Victor y Toni, porque ellos luchan con una motivación muy, muy especial y , hoy por hoy, son los mejores, espero no perder mucho tiempo y a la última crono:Murcia- Solidaridad - Murcia, llegra con posibilidades de podium.
Eso si como me hagan control antilevodoping, con 9 Sinemet Plus al día...rompo la máquina, jajajja.

Sois Él y tu, una pareja increíble...y hablando de las casualidades,iba yo con Mcarena y Chufa camino de la Maliciosa por un sendero escarpado y absolutamente solitario y de pronto aparece cuesta abajo un deportista corriendo, le miro y le pregunto: Oye, ¿ tu eres Peio ?, y me dice si.
le empiezo a contar la historia de Victor y Toni y me dice : " ya me lo ha contado Juan Berrendero, aquí tienes mi móvil para lo que necesitéis ".
Nos da un abrazo y sigue coriendo hasta perderse de vista.

Una pareja recorre 1.500 kilómetros en tándem entre Sheffield y Murcia con el fin de recaudar fondos para los afectados

Víctor Manuel Franco y Antonia Key disfrutan por adelantado de una particular luna de miel. Ellos viven en Sheffield, Inglaterra, y se casan el próximo 24 de junio en la localidad murciana de Los Alcázares, tierra natal del novio. Cuando hace unos meses iniciaron los preparativos nupciales, decidieron emprender un viaje inolvidable: recorrer en un tándem los 1.500 kilómetros que separan Sheffield y Murcia para dar a conocer la realidad de los enfermos de Parkinson. Su aventura les trajo ayer a Santurtzi, donde desembarcaron para cruzar la ría hasta Getxo y dirigirse después a Galdakao.
Animar al padre de Víctor, afectado por la enfermedad, fue su primer impulso. «Cada día estaba más triste y queríamos hacer algo para demostrarle que estamos con él», recordó el ciclista a los pies del Puente Colgante. «La depresión es síntoma común entre los pacientes de Parkinson y, en un principio, pensamos en donar nuestra lista de bodas a una asociación de afectados por este mal. Más tarde, se nos ocurrió que podíamos hacer algo más llamativo. Conseguir que nos siguiera la gente y, así, recaudar más fondos», explicó.
Tres semanas
La pareja se puso en contacto con dos asociaciones de afectados, una inglesa, Parkinson's Desease Society (PDS), y otra española, Asociación de Parkinson en Internet (Apanet), y comenzó a entrenarse. Serán tres semanas de intenso pedaleo, con apenas tres jornadas de descanso. De momento, han recorrido más de 500 kilómetros y han visitado localidades británicas como Nottingham, Coleshill y Portsmouth. Ayer llegaron en ferry a Santurtzi, desde donde se dirigieron a Portugalete para cruzar a Las Arenas por el Puente Colgante. Al otro lado les esperaban amigos de Apanet, el alcalde de Getxo, Iñaki Zarraoa, y varios corporativos, que les obsequiaron con un libro sobre la localidad. «Hasta ahora hemos recaudado poco más de 8.000 libras para la asociación inglesa y 4.300 euros en Apanet. Pero creemos que estamos dando a conocer una enfermedad de la que poco se sabe», comentó Víctor.
La segunda etapa del día les llevó a Galdakao. En la plaza del Ayuntamiento les esperaban miembros de asociaciones de familiares de enfermos de Parkinson de Vizcaya que les dieron la bienvenida. El alcalde, Joseba Escribano, y varios miembros de la Corporación municipal les entregaron un obsequio como recuerdo de su paso por el municipio.
Además, los ciclistas Joane Somarriba, Ramontxu González Arrieta y Peio Ruiz Cabestany también se acercaron a saludarles. Ramontxu explicó a la pareja qué camino debía seguir en su trayecto por Euskadi. «Mejor que cojáis esta carretera para llegar hasta Alsasua, que es muy tranquila y muy agradable», aconsejó el deportista de Galdakao a Víctor, mientras su prometida charlaba con Joane. «Da gusto que alguien que conoce cómo es el recorrido nos indique por dónde hay que ir», agradeció. La pareja partió hacia Dima y, después de comer, siguió su camino.
